Myron "Micky" Miller
Micky Miller is Co-Chairman of Miller Global Properties and has been involved in real estate since 1969. His experience has included involvement in the development, acquisition, and management of over 50 million square feet of buildings including mixed-use projects, high-rise offices, suburban offices, hotels, ski and golf resorts, retail complexes, industrial parks, apartments, condominiums, office parks and various land ventures. Companies under his direction have been involved in real estate development/ownership in over 40 cities and 6 countries.
Micky, with his son Jim, formed Miller Properties Group in 1993. The following year, they joined with Philip Anschutz to form Miller-Anschutz Properties. In 1996, Micky and his company formed Miller Global Properties, a partnership with Global Diversification Corp. (the Ofer Family), which has been involved in more than 80 properties representing 12 million square feet of office space and 3,300 hotel rooms.
From 1955 through 1968, Micky was in the private practice of law specializing in real estate, corporate and general business law. During that time he conceptualized, created and then coordinated a joint venture to annex, zone, and develop a 2,900-acre tract of land adjacent to the City of Denver owned by his extended family. The property, now known as Montbello, has a population today estimated at over 30,000 people. The industrial park was sold out in five years with over 100 sales transactions. The venture developed and managed 28 industrial buildings as well as over 1,250 apartment units, several office buildings, retail and hotels.
In 1969, Micky joined Urban Investment and Development Co., a subsidiary of Aetna Life & Casualty – at that time one of the nation’s largest real estate development companies. He served as Executive Vice President in charge of the western half of the U.S. and was responsible for a variety of real estate property types.
In January, 1978, Micky formed Miller-Davis Co., a partnership with Marvin Davis that later became Miller-Klutznick-Davis-Gray Co. (MKDG), which co-developed in downtown Denver the 50 story 1801 California (Qwest Building), the MCI Building, the Johns Manville Building and the Wells Fargo Tower. This complex created more than 3 million square feet of office space, 3,500 parking spaces, and the largest outdoor privately developed office plaza in downtown Denver.
Including the above, in downtown Denver, his companies have developed/owned 13 major office buildings and the Downtown Denver Marriott and Westin Hotels, and in Suburban Denver developed/owned in the Denver Tech Center and Southeast Corridor 14 office buildings.
Micky’s companies have also been involved in several high profile properties including the new LEED certified 1002 room JW Marriott San Antonio Resort & Spa, with two TPC PGA TOUR golf courses; Nickelodeon Suites Resort, Orlando; Aspen Ski Company and The Little Nell Hotel; Pebble Beach Co; Beverley Hills Hotel; and the Algonquin Hotel, New York City. Miller has been involved with and served on several business and non-profit boards, including: University of Denver, Rose Community Foundation, National Jewish Health, Shalom Park and the Denver Nuggets Basketball, Inc.
