Samuel Addoms
Samuel Addoms was chairman of Frontier Airlines’ Board of Directors. He served as executive vice president, treasurer and a director for Frontier during its pre-startup phase from 1993 until 1994. During that period, Addoms provided financial expertise and helped develop a comprehensive business plan for Frontier.
From September 1994 until August 2001, Addoms served as the airline’s president and, in January 1995, he was named chief executive officer. He served in that role through his retirement in 2002.
Prior to his work with Frontier, Addoms served as an officer, director and consultant with more than 15 early stage companies in a variety of industries. In addition, he spent a year as an instructor at the University of Northern Colorado’s Business School.
Over Addoms’ 46 years in management, he spent considerable time in the banking industry, serving as vice president of Continental Illinois National Bank in Chicago, and later as president of Denver National Bank. He also was chief financial officer with Monfort of Colorado Inc. from 1972 until 1980, and he was appointed president and chief executive officer of Monfort in 1976.
Addoms earned a bachelor’s degree with a major in English literature from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. He is a 35-year Colorado resident and enjoys spending his free time with his wife Cathy, their three children and eight grandchildren.
