Carl A. Norgren
Carl A. Norgren was an entrepreneur and the founder of Norgren USA. In 1925, Norgren designed hose coupling for his kitchen, which was the start of his company. Eventually, the company became so big that Norgren built a plant in Littleton. Although it was sold in 1973, Norgren USA still stands today, as well as the work standards that Norgren put into action. He was one of the first employers to start an employee profit-sharing program and create work schedules that included 3-4 day work weeks.
Outside of business, Norgren was heavily involved with the Boy Scouts. Due to his involvement and dedication, he was honored with two awards: the Silver Beaver, recognizing Scouters of exceptional character who have provided distinguished service, and the Silver Antelope, recognizing Scouters of exceptional character for outstanding service to youth.
Norgren and his wife retired to Arizona, where he passed in 1968.
