Earl l. wright
After receiving his BS from the University of Nebraska and MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Earl L. Wright began his career in wealth management at Irwin Management in Indiana. In 1972, he and Michael Bergmann began providing financial counseling to clients under the name Asset Management Group, as a unit of Shearson Hammill. Three years later, they purchased their financial counseling business. They incorporated AMG National Corp. in California on November 24, 1975.
As CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of AMG, Wright has led the company to manage assets of approximately $8.1 billion (as of March 31, 2024). AMG provides personal financial management services ranging from strategic wealth planning, investment management, private capital, tax planning and preparation, trust, and banking services across eight offices in the United States.
Public policy issues have become a focal point for Wright. In 2010, he co-founded the Common Sense Institute (CSI), which does econometric analysis of Colorado state and local issues. He actively engages with guests on their bi-weekly podcast, which discusses issues CSI has been researching.
Wright has served as trustee, board member, and chair of various committees associated with private college prep schools, private and public universities as well as their foundations. Within his community, he has received several awards for leadership and services, including the “Masters of Profession” from the University of Nebraska, Citizen of the Year from the Villager Newspaper (Greenwood Village, CO), and the Presidential Award from Doane University.
Wright previously served on the Board of Directors of Taiga Biotechnologies, Inc. which was a private immunology research company, and was a past board member of Nichols Institute, a medical diagnostic company that went public during his tenure. Earlier in his career, he served on the Board of Directors of SuperFood Services, a publicly traded company.
