Joe Wagner
Joe Wagner founded one of Colorado’s most economically viable and stable companies that serves businesses in the U.S. and beyond while also leading the tireless efforts of many community groups.
A graduate of Knox College, Wagner founded Wagner Equipment Co. in 1976. Wagner Equipment Co. is the Caterpillar dealer for the state of Colorado. It serves customers in construction, mining, agriculture, power generation, forestry, manufacturing, and government by supplying Caterpillar earthmoving and construction equipment to these industries. Wagner also grew his company to international locations, including Mongolia and the southeast Siberian region of Russia.
Prior to founding Wagner Equipment Co., Wagner was executive vice president and co-owner of Darr Equipment Co., the Caterpillar dealer for northeast Texas.
Aside from his leadership at Wagner Equipment Co., Wagner’s civic and business activities included serving on several committees and boards. He was the president and chairman of the Denver Area Council Boy Scouts. He also gave his time and efforts to the Denver Boys & Girls Club, The Children’s Hospital and The Children’s Hospital Foundation, Colorado Up-Lift, and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. Wagner was also a community board member for Wells Fargo Bank. He was a member of the Denver Rotary Club and an elder of the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.
