Robert T. Person, Sr.
Robert T. Person, Sr. followed in his father's footsteps and became a chief engineer for the New Mexico Public Service Company. At age 34, Person became the Vice President and General Manager of the Pueblo Gas and Fuel Company, which was a subsidiary of the Public Service Company. He soon moved to Denver and subsequently moved through the ranks of The Parent Company, becoming the President and Chief Executive Officer at only 44 years old. He would spend the next 20 years as president, making him the longest-reigning president in the company's history.
Person also had a deep passion for community. He felt that his company as well as others should be good corporate citizens. Person was extremely involved in Denver and Colorado as the President of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Director of the National Western Stock Show, and Chairman of the Mile High United Way.
