Walter "Walt" Imhoff
Walter Imhoff started his business career in 1955 with Coughlin and Company, serving as an assistant vice president. In 1960, he joined Edward A. Hanifen and Norbert J. Samford to establish the firm Hanifen, Imhoff Inc. In January 2000, Hanifen, Imhoff merged with Stifel Nicolaus and Company, headquartered in St. Louis, MO.
He was active in several business and professional organizations, including serving as president of The Bond Club of Denver, vice president of the executive committee of the Mid-Continent District of the Investment Bankers Association, and president and member of the board of the Colorado Municipal Bond Dealers Association.
His civic involvement included serving as president of the Denver Club and vice president of the board of the Greater Denver Chamber of Commerce (now the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce), and chairman of the President’s Club of the Greater Denver Chamber of Commerce, chairman of Colorado Concern. He also served on the board of the Greater Denver Corporation and the Hyland Hills Foundation. He also previously served as chairman of Kempe Children’s Foundation, chairman of the board of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, and was on the board of directors as Chairman of Saint Joseph Hospital. He was on the board of trustees of the Irish Community Center. He was also vice president of the Boy Scouts of America. In 1994, Hanifen, Imhoff Inc. received the Childhelp USA Corporate Award.
